GenomeDx Announces Research Collaboration with Astellas to Identify Genomic Drivers of Patient Response to XTANDI (enzalutamide) Capsules

GenomeDx Biosciences recently announced that it has entered into a research collaboration with Astellas, a leading global pharmaceutical company, to apply genomic tumor profiling using GenomeDx’s Decipher® Classifier and Decipher GRID® as a potential aid in the identification of prostate cancer patients undergoing active surveillance who may benefit from treatment with XTANDI® (enzalutamide).

New Predictor of Prostate Cancer Disease Progression Now Available for Newly Diagnosed Patients

GenomeDx Biosciences recently announced the launch of Decipher Biopsy, a genomic test that evaluates RNA expression-based biomarkers to predict the risk of high-grade disease, metastasis and cancer-specific death at the time of biopsy in men with prostate cancer. The launch brings the Decipher Prostate Cancer Classifier, already clinically adopted and extensively validated following surgery, to newly diagnosed patients at initial biopsy. Decipher Biopsy is the only genomic test available to assess tumor aggressiveness across very low, low, intermediate, and high risk patients, enabling physicians to accurately determine if the patient may safely consider delaying initial local treatment or if he may benefit from earlier intensification of treatment with one or more therapies.

Protagen Supports Novel Route to Serum-based Prostate Cancer Diagnostics

Protagen AG, technology leader in the development of novel molecular diagnostic and companion diagnostic tests for autoimmune diseases and oncological indications, recently announced the identification of novel protein biomarkers in prostate cancer, which are potential drug targets supporting novel strategies in precision medicine. Using the proprietary Protagen SeroTag® technology, the discovery was made in close collaboration with Professor Helmut Klocker, Medical University of Innsbruck and Oncotyrol Center for Personalized Cancer Medicine, Innsbruck, and Professor Mark Rubin, Cornell University and Targos Molecular Pathology GmbH, Kassel.

Biocept Launches Blood-based Test for Prostate Cancer and Expands Offering in Breast Cancer

Biocept, Inc. (NASDAQ: BIOC), a molecular diagnostics company commercializing and developing biomarkers to improve the detection and treatment of cancer, announces the launch of the CLIA-validated androgen receptor expression assay using a patient’s blood for the detection and monitoring of late-stage prostate cancer and a certain form of breast cancer.

OPKO Announces Publication of ProtecT Study Using Kallikrein Biomarkers in 4Kscore Test

OPKO Health, Inc. (NYSE:OPK) recently announced the online publication of a study entitled “Predicting High-Grade Cancer at Ten-Core Prostate Biopsy Using Four Kallikrein Markers Measured in Blood in the ProtecT Study” in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. The study shows that the four kallikrein panel of biomarkers utilized in the OPKO 4Kscore® Test (Total PSA, Free PSA, Intact PSA and hK2) accurately identifies risk for aggressive prostate cancer prior to prostate biopsy.
