GenomeDx Biosciences recently announced that it has entered into a research collaboration with Astellas, a leading global pharmaceutical company, to apply genomic tumor profiling using GenomeDx’s Decipher® Classifier and Decipher GRID® as a potential aid in the identification of prostate cancer patients undergoing active surveillance who may benefit from treatment with XTANDI® (enzalutamide).

GPC Genomic Databases Initiative Addresses Recommendations of Academy’s Biomarkers Report

A new report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine aims to reduce key barriers to the development and clinical adoption of biomarker tests for molecularly targeted therapies. Included in the report are recommendations designed to facilitate rapid learning from patient experience through enhanced data-collection and data-sharing in one or more large public repositories that should be created. This would include the capture of biomarker test results linked with molecularly targeted therapies and clinical patient outcomes data in electronic health records.

Philips and Mount Sinai Health System Collaborate to Advance Clinical Research Through New Digital Pathology Database and Analytics

Royal Philips (NYSE:PHG, AEX:PHIA) recently announced a joint development agreement with the Mount Sinai Health System, an integrated health system in New York, to create a state-of-the-art digital image repository of patient tissue samples and innovative data analytics to pursue the discovery of new tissue-based tests and unlock pathology data.
