Biomarker Discovery: Moving Diagnostics to the Forefront of Medical Research

Increasing emphasis is being placed on biomarker discovery as the key to advancing personalized medicine. Better diagnostic tools are leading to improved patient outcomes; however, identifying disease etiologies is still a long and challenging path. On Tuesday, November 15th, 2011, the Indiana Health Industry Forum (IHIF) presents a seminar Biomarker Discovery: Moving Diagnostics to the Forefront of Medical Research. Two panelists will discuss the biomarker discovery pathway and how discoveries are being translated into new diagnostic tests and tools.

The event is part of the IHIF Life Sciences Lunch Series, a monthly seminar series on critical issues in life science. Hosted by the law firm Barnes & Thornburg, each month during lunch a policymaker or a panel in the field of life science will be available to answer questions concerning the major challenges and opportunities in the life science industry.

The event will be simulcast at Barnes & Thornburg offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Indiana, Los Angeles, Michigan, Minneapolis, Ohio and Washington D.C. There is a $10 charge to attend the event in Indianapolis and no charge to attend at the remote sites.
